About Disney's Beauty and the Beast

The smash Broadway musical now in its 8th year is based on the 1991 Disney film. "Beauty and the Beast" tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial French town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an evil enchantress. If the beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will be ended and he will be transformed into his former self. Time is running out. If Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Music by Alan Menken. Lyrics by Howard Ashman & Tim Rice.
